Promised Land Lodge is the original home of our hospitality journey on Zanzibar’s south coast. Founded over three decades ago, the lodge was created as a peaceful retreat rooted in authenticity, nature, and genuine Zanzibarian character. Situated in Kizimkazi, an area rich in history and tradition, Promised Land Lodge has always embraced the natural beauty and calm rhythm of the south coast.
Over the years, the lodge has undergone thoughtful restorations, carefully maintaining its traditional Zanzibarian style and warm, welcoming atmosphere. Its strong connection to the land and local culture has remained at the heart of the lodge, offering guests an experience that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
As the original lodge, Promised Land Lodge later inspired the creation of its sister property, Kingstone Lodge, extending the same values of charm, history, and heartfelt hospitality to a more central location near Stone Town.
